Christmas Decor Inspiration

November 14, 2020

I love decorating for Christmas! It’s a designer’s way of finding an excuse to play with decor in our home once a year without it being a complete overhaul of our existing decor. Plus, I love the season and everything it represents. Decorating my home for Christmas is part of the way that I bring the excitement, magic and joy of the holidays to those I love.

STOCKINGS AND TEXTILES

I use stockings and pillow covers as a way to bring texture and prints into my holiday decor. I love that stockings can be a great jumping off point and provide you with direction for everything. When I’m ready to change up my holiday decor or get inspired for a new look, I usually start with the stockings! Check out my design inspirations below that include stocking ideas. I love to mix plaids and holiday florals, and I love whimsical stockings for kids. I even tie in my gift wrap so that the whole look comes together.

TABLESCAPES

My holiday table is something special that I love to decorate. As a kid, I always wanted to help, so my mom put me in charge of setting the table for our holiday dinners. I got really into it! My love for a good tablescape stuck with me and I think it’s one of the most important parts of hosting! I like my tablescape to tie in with the rest of my holiday decor, but I do have a set of nostalgic Christmas plates that I use every year. I find ways to change up the napkins, chargers and centerpieces but I want my daughter to always remember having Christmas dinner on our special plates. I can’t wait until next year when we have a formal dining room again!

DECOR INSPIRATION

Here are a few holiday looks that are so fun for different areas in the home. I love finding ways to incorporate a mix of color palettes or themes for different spaces.

I hope you found some inspiration or some new items to add to your Christmas decor this year!
