Easter at Home

April 6, 2020

Just like most of you, I have had to adjust my expectations for what Easter will look like this year. We had plans to start a new tradition and spend the holiday week at our home in Florida. We dreamt of Easter in Rosemary Beach, with Church at the little chapel, an egg hunt on the green, brunch at the Pearl Hotel and time spent relaxing on the beach with family.

We will miss celebrating with our family, and yes, it would be nice to be on vacation… but we can still embrace the importance of the Easter story from home, and we can still make it special with our little family. We plan to get dressed up, watch our church service online, and set an Easter table for brunch. We can even hide some eggs in the yard for Sloane! Here are my tips for celebrating this year under the circumstances:

1. Put on your Sunday best and take a family photo to remember the occasion.

2. Do a fun activity with your kids. This could be an easter craft, decorating eggs, or having them help you bake Easter goodies.

3. Watch Church from home or Zoom with your family members to stay connected with your community and loved ones.

4. Set an Easter Table and cook a special Easter meal. Set your table a few days early so that you can enjoy it longer!

This is the table I did with my mom last year:
